Participate in an all-ages, all-levels family friendly event to explore the sport of fishing through interactive hands-on instruction provided by the DEC and Friends of the Esplanade. This FREE fishing clinic will take place at the East River Esplanade on Monday, September 28, 2026.
Location details: Fishing will take place at Bobby Wagner Walk at E. 92nd St (north of Sanitation Station). Access from E. 96th Street or E. 89th Street with a 10-minute walk.
Gear for participants: Borrow a fishing rod or bring your own. Bait will also be available.
Target audience: All ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Pop-up events are first come, first served and space is limited. A waiver is required for participation as fish hooks are involved. For details and to sign the waiver, visit https://www.esplanadefriends.org. No fishing license is required to participate in a free fishing clinic event.
