Access to Home Grant Assistance Available to Eligible Chemung County Residents
Program helps residents with disabilities make accessibility improvements to their homes

Chemung County has been awarded an Access to Home grant through New York State Homes and Community Renewal. The funding will help eligible low- and moderate-income residents with disabilities modify their primary residences so they can live safely and comfortably in their homes.

The program is open to eligible homeowners and renters with disabilities resulting from injury, age, or health-related conditions. Assistance may support accessibility improvements such as wheelchair ramps, handrails, widened doorways, and roll-in showers.

Every resident deserves the opportunity to live safely and independently in a home that meets their needs," Chemung County Executive Christopher J. Moss said. "This grant will help remove barriers for eligible residents and allow more people to remain in the homes and communities they know."

Chemung County's grant administrator, Arbor Housing and Development, is accepting inquiries and applications for the program. Residents seeking eligibility information or application assistance may contact the Access to Home program intake coordinator at (607) 654-7487, extension 2049, or email glandon@arbordevelopment.org. Additional information is available at arbordevelopment.org.
